Faith, Power, Justice
Mardi Gras Meanings

All words Vampires can sink their teeth into, each word is
associated with one of the Mardi Gras theme colors of Green, Gold
and Purple.

It was in 1872 that Rex - The King of Mardi Gras, first established
the colors.  It wasn't until 20 years later that the colors were given
meaning.  Faith for green, Power for gold, and Justice for purple.

The nocturnal find the meanings intriguing, and thus revel in the
colors during the season.

Constantly questioning their
faith, they fancy themselves just
another one of God's creatures.  However, their true existence
remains a mystery to even them.

Very
powerful, both physically and mentally, the Vampire seeks
justice for their existence.  It may in fact have been the nocturnal
who influenced our Mardi Gras meanings.

Mardi Gras Masquerade - Party Nocturnal Style

Vampires wear the mask of humanity.  In fact,
masquerading is a Vampire's existence - hiding from
mortals best they can.  This may be why a true
masquerade, and carnival time in New Orleans, is
particularly entertaining to a Vampire.

The nocturnal watch mortals pretend to hide
themselves with elaborate party masks.  However, in
actuality the masks show off more personality than
most would show without their masks, amusing the
Vampire even more.

Mardi Gras is a time of "Anything Goes".  Mortals
loose themselves in the celebration.  It's a time when
guards are down; and for a Vampire prey is easy and
plentiful.  The Vampire, who enjoys the finer things
in life, always finds the balls and parties welcome
events.
