Boutique du Vampyre's
5th annual Vampire Genre short story contest
We are proud to announce our 5th annual Lullabies contest. The submissions
over the past years have been fun and wickedly wonderful. This year we
decided to through a little twist in the mix to challenge our writers. So, this time
around, while the stories must still be Vampire related, they can NOT be love
related. I know that's a big but, because Vampires are such sexual creatures.
However, there is more to a Vampire than just it's body. Come on now. We're
more interesting than that. With all the knowledge we gained over the ages,
there is more to write about than lust and love. There is art, mystery, history,
wars, losses, experiences that only a vampire could have experienced. So put
the pen to the paper and expand our horizons.
The maximum number of words will remain at 3000 this year to give writers a
room to play with.
Contestants will have their stories posted on our website for exposure to readers
as well as valuable reader feedback. However the final judges will be Author
Andrew Fox, Fat White Vampire Blues and Bride of the Fat White Vampire,
Arlene Russo, editor Bite Me Magazine (www.bitememagazine.com) and Marita
Jaeger, owner Boutique du Vampyre, and author of numerous published articles
as well as the on-line novel The Gift.
The winner's article will be posted significantly on our website.
And the winner will receive a $150.- gift certificate to the Boutique, which can
also be used online, a personalized signed copy of Fat White Vampire Blues and
a case of VAMP N.R.G. drink, the energy drink for when the sun goes down.
Stories may be republished in future Boutique du Vampyre endeavors, both
website and printed materials.
Rules:
Stories must be vampire related.
Stories must be submitted via e-mail.
Contest begins June 1st. All stories will be placed on the website within a week
of their submission.
All stories must be submitted by October 1st.
Winners will be announced October 31st.
Stories must be loosely limited to 3000 words. There is no limit to how short
the story can be. (However, if your story goes over 3000 words within reason,
to complete the story. Please keep it as close to 3000 as possible.)
Stories may be used by Boutique du Vampyre in future endeavors.
There is a $10.- entry fee.
Please reference the title of your story in the comments section in Paypal.
Then e-mail us your story with the title in the subject section.
