Vampires in Louisiana - an artists perception
by Mary Fox

My acquaintance with the presence and imagination of
Vampires and the "goings on" which take place in the quest
for immortality; when the soul is taken from life on an
earthly plane to life immortal, I transform into art.

After many years of living in the French Quarter, and an
intrigue in things of an avant-garde nature, I  now
specialized by quest, the nature of the nocturnal, via
conversation and study of some famous local vampires.

Some expressing their vampire glory in dress and public
notoriety and some shy ones who have taken other
occupations but do verbalize about their experience with
supernatural activity in and around the city.

These things serve as my inspiration to paint the little
miniatures on tiny canvases made of wood.  My paintings
are simply a depiction of their presence and the life that
lives in our society.  Pilgrimages to cemeteries, red wine
rituals, boots, capes, and blood stained lipstick, along with
high imagination all in honor of the "Vampire".

Perhaps you will see the Vampire in you!
Mary's little miniature paintings of French
Quarter scenes, are all somehow vampire
related.  pictured above is from left to right
is the Saint Louis Cathedral, a Vampire
taking a victim, the front of Boutique du
Vampyre, and in front a little Pirate's Alley
scene.

Her paintings sell quickly, so it's best to
visit the boutique and select one that is
currently available.
